A Child’s First Salad

A child can start to eat salads from the time he or she is fourteen months of age.

The first time you feed a child salad make sure it is cut in very small pieces. It is recommended to feed the child a small amount so that they will get used to the texture and flavor.

A good option for a child’s first salad is grated carrots and peeled tomatoes, chopped in small pieces and without the seeds.

Cut the lettuce in small pieces.

As a child goes getting used to this type of food, you can add in other ingredients such as bits of apple, a little bit of boiled rice etc.

Raw Vegetables
Remember that in the case of lettuce it is very important to wash it off really well, as this is a vegetable that cannot be
cooked. The best way to is to place the lettuce leaves in an abundant amount of water for 5 minutes with a couple drops of bleach, and then rinse them off really well underneath the running tap.
