Everyone tells pregnant women that they have a special glow and aura to them, however for some it is difficult to know what the real experience is going to be like, while there are others that go through it without any sort of difficulty and feel like princesses. There are many far-fetched tales that people talk about but some of which can cause anguish to a pregnant mother.

Cardiac Rhythm Tale
If the cardiac rhythm of the fetus is fast, it is girl, and if it is slow, it is a boy. Well, believe it or not medical investigators have

actually analysed this myth. They were able to find a slight difference between the average cardiac rhythm between boys and girls, but it was not significant enough to use it as a precise mechanism to predict the sex.

Seeing Ugly Things Will Make You Have An Ugly Baby Tale
It is said that if a pregnant woman sees something ugly, that she will have an ugly baby. What? There is no such thing! All babies are beautiful!

The In Laws Tale
It is said that if a pregnant woman does not like her mother in law or any of her other in laws and if she is very focused on it during pregnancy, that the baby will be exactly like the mother in law or the other disliked in laws.

Spicy Food Tale
There are many people that believe that eating spicy foods can bring on labor. This is not true though.

Great Sex Tale
It is said that passionate sex can bring on labor. Well, this is where it all started after all. However, if you are nine months pregnant and that this might work, go ahead and try. One thing for sure is that you will enjoy it.

The Moon Tale
According to this tale, many women go into labor when there is a full moon. Although many obstetricians say that the delivery rooms are always full on full moons, scientific data does not sustain that notion.

The Shape Of The Abdomen Tale
It is said that if the abdomen of the pregnant woman is round, it’s a girl, and if it’s pointy that it’s a boy. Whatever! The shape of a woman’s abdomen varies between women but the sex of the baby has nothing to do with it.

Sonogram Shows All Tale
It is said that the sonogram can always reveal the sex of the baby. Well, actually not always. Many times, between weeks eighteen and twenty it is possible to see the genitals of the fetus. In order to establish the sex of the baby correctly the baby needs to be in the right position that allows the doctor to see it and sometimes babies just simply do not want to collaborate. The doctor can also make a mistake with it, especially if the sonogram has been done too early in the pregnancy. Although in most cases it is possible to discover the sex of the baby in the sonogram, it is not guaranteed.

Eating For Two Tale
It is said that a pregnant woman has to eat for two, in other words twice as much as she normally would because otherwise the kid will come out starving.

Not true, however there are many pregnant women that eat more then they should and end up gaining too much weight, and by doing this they run the risk of suffering form diabetes and preeclampsia.
